More eco-friendly Solar Charger which uses AA batteries

Solar mobile-phone & USB-device chargers are slowly becoming popular. One let down is that you have to chuck the whole device after the life of their sealed batteries (2-3 yrs).
This particular Solar charger uses easily available AA batteries instead. Plus you can use the charged AA batteries for other purposes as well.

    How long do they charge, Ifthi? Are the batteries charged to their full capacity?

    Sriram - I am waiting for some sunshine to find out :) Theoretically, it's 6-7 hours for 2 batteries of 1000 mAh each.
